create feelings

Hello there!
Today I want to show you a layout made with the Lindy's Stamp Gang  January 2015 Limited Edition Spray Set! It is about dreamworld and what happens there, so I wanted to give to my page a lot of sparkle, flow and a bit of fascination!

Now, let me tell you some basic steps I follow to create a page. As usual, I choose a photo from the internet - this is always the first step. According the theme and the colors of the photo I match the paper sheet, the embellishments and of course the color pallet of the media (here I used mists and gesso). Then I start with the background: for this page I applied some gesso and after that I had a lot of fun with the mists. I prefer to spray not directly on the paper, rather on a small clear plastic surface and do something like a stamping work. This creates a watercolor effect, which I absolutely love doing on my projects...

...after that, I like to stamp with several stamps, in order to create an interesting mixed media background. I also love doing a lot of splashes at the end of the process.

I also had to alter the chipboard frame and the flowers in order to match the color pallet of my page, so I painted them with the purple mists and then glued some purple sparkly dust on them...

For this page I followed the sketch by 'We Create Together'...

...and got inspired by the 13arts 'Space in my head' challenge

That's all for today, I hope you got some inspiration - Don't forget our January Color Challenge which is still running. Have a wonderful week!

Broken

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm super excited because I was invited to be a Guest Designer at Berry 71 Blue!
Thank you very much for the invitation, it's really a great honor for me!
So, I created this page for the theme 'Anything Wings'...

For my layout I used a white sheet, because I wanted to create my own background as I visualized it when I found this beautiful photo on Pinterest. I love using photos I find on the web, I think it's more artistic for my work.
Anyway, to create this background, I used a stencil with gesso (I can't work without gesso, lol), then I sprayed a black mist with water to create a watercolor effect and finally I stamped a hand script with black ink.  As I wanted to focus on the background and make the photo stand out of the composition, i used very few embellishments: some flowers (sprayed with black mist) and buttons, some of them broken into pieces and a handmade heart. I also used two chipboard wings; I torn one of them to match it with the title "broken". I sprayed them with black mist and added some golden powder. The title is written with chipboard letters (also sprayed with black mist) and I did some journaling around the page by hand. For the final touch, I splashed the page with black mist.

Here are some details:

And that's all for today,
'see' you soon!

life is a balance...

Hello dear friends!
Today I'm very excited because I can share my first DT page for Scrap Around The World!
Our challenge for January is  hosted by Karita Vainio and she created a beautiful moodboard with an amazing quote:
'life is a balance of holding on and letting go'.
I was really inspired by those words and created this page:

...and this is our gorgeour moodboard:

I tried to include all the elements of the moodboard on my page, so you can see frames, keys (actually I used a stencil with keys), flowers, a clock, blue - pink and a bit of green shades and the quote written with chipboard letters. In order to give a vintage and shabby chic style I altered the letters and painted them with crackle, rusty green and blue  paint...

I hope you got some inspiration,
I can't wait to see your creations for our challenge

Soar high above

Hello everyone!
Today I'm hosting the Lindy's Stamp Gang blog!
This month we have a super beautiful color pallet with several shades of purple with a little bit of coral, so I wanted to include all these pretty colors on my page.

Most of the times I like to use for my layouts photos I find on the internet and that's what I did this time. I love this photo with all these floating lanterns, it's so beautiful and much our color pallet, too!
In order to create the background I used the January 2015 Limited Edition Spray Set.
I covered some desired spots around the photo with gesso, then I used the purple sprays: I sprayed on a small clear plastic surface (you can find a lot of them in the packages of clear stamps, at least this is what I do) and then I 'stamped' it on the page, so as to create a water color effect.

I really like this effect! As I wanted to keep it simple, I only did some stamping here and there with a floral stamp and that's all for the background. Then I used the Sprays to color the flowers and also to make some splashes around the composition as a final touch.

Well, I can't wait to see your projects for the January Color Challenge!
Thank you for stopping by today,
have a lovely day!

Hellor everyone!
This is my first page as a DT member for Scraps n Pieces  a Greek challenge blog - there you will have not only fun with the challenges, but you will find many tutorials and more!
Thank you very much for the invitation, I'm very excited to be a part of this great team!

GET LUCKY!

Our first challenge for 2015 is themed 'Get Lucky' and all you have to do is to include in your project anything that brings luck in your life or the word luck/ lucky, etc... I used a small pomegranate - here in Greece the pomegranate is a sign of good luck :)

For my page I used the sketch from the Art Piaskownica:

Αυτά για σήμερα, περιμένω να δω τις δημιουργίες σας κορίτσια!

That's all for today,
I hope to see your creations for our challenge at Scraps n Pieces!

follow your instinct

Happy New Year everybody!
Today I'm very excited because I have to show you my first DT work for Lindy's Stamp Gang January color challenge:

...and here is our mood board with the beautiful color pallet:

...very pretty colors, don't you think?
I was inspired not only from these purple shades, but also from the beautiful photo with the snowy trees. So, I used a lot of gesso and purple mists to create the background of the composition.
I also used some tiny sticks to create a small fence.

So, will you join us this month for a chance to win a 50.00 gift certificate to the Lindy's Stamp Gang online store? Check it out, follow the rules and have fun with the colors!!
